This 3 part painting was the first in a series of more than 30 collaborative pieces that Dan and Jane created between 1987 and 1989. For the most part, they worked side by side, bouncing ideas off each other and working over and into each other's paint. The central theme of the painting follows a girl and boy from the family breakfast table out into the walk-of-life. The artists appear in the work as do real people drawn from various sources -- such as 1950s vintage Juneau high school year books. Signed lower right. Gift of the Artists Jane Terzis & Dan De Roux May 1, 1995. |
